He's probably took his foot of the accelerator to allow the race leaders to pass easier as he is being lapped.

I was thinking exactly that, it is just made to look good by the fact there is a 3rd car they are going around, other than that it's pretty normal, he goes down the inside, Schumacher is on the outside, Hakkinen gets the place, nothing really wow about it

He's being lapped and would've probably eased out of the throttle so it would've been easier for the leaders to pass.

thats not really what i would call the best overtake. Michael goes on the outside to lap the car which was stupid as the line would be better inside, so mika takes the inside which anyone with a brain and watches f1 regularly can tell you that your better off in that sort of apex, especially in francorchamps and what, turn 5 or 6 is it, is better inside as its sort of a chicane so taking inside means you get the line fore the following corner, hence why schumacher was stupid Luck n brains imo
