In an interview he said that it was about god...it make quite abit of sense when he says "...i dont see what i can feel if vision is the only validation then most of my life isnt real" thats what i heard...he might have been joking but he has grown up in the church when he was younger according to wikipedia lol. great song anyways XD

To me this song is about how if he doesn't want to lose his gf or whatever because they belong together like and are good together - like black and gold. i don't think its religious either because he's basically saying he doesn't care what happens if he loses his girl because life (and god) would be meaningless. thats what i think anyway
