While I do like the subtle progression of the long intro quite a bit, it would have caused this video to have three minutes of a pure black screen or Murphy sitting there doing nothing. It's fairly impractical.

Hmmm I love this song but I'm partial to Franz Ferdinand just because I've been listening to them for a while. But this version kicks some major ass. One of the best songs of 2007 hands down.

Franz version has no life to it. When James Murphy sings it, you get an actual idea of the regret that the song is about. Plus, his repetitive instrumentation fits much better.
