There may be some confusion here I was going over Shawn Lane's discography (that is who Eklundh is replacing in Hellborg's work), not Eklundh's. I love Eklundh's two solo albums and his work with Hellborg even more so. I haven't really gotten into Freak Kithcen beyond forwarding to the guitar solo's. Maybe I should though eh? Six albums is no small acheivement.

Eklundh kinda looks like Hanna Montana's dad. hahaha. but still one of my idol!! he really is a freak guitar player.

You wouldn't have to go through his whole discography, he only released one album and it's not really metal... more jazzy, like Holdsworth fusion, the rest of his releases (where he's an actual member not a studio guy) are all with Hellborg and are all fusion. This Petar guy is the one who mentioned him as a Jazz player first. And considering that this is an Eklundh post and Eklundh has replaced Lane as Hellborg's guitarist I think it is actually quite relevant.

haha yes i still think it was irrelevant and no im not going to go through all the guitarists discographys just to make sure that my comments are a 100% accurate in terms of genres. But hes a speedfreak that much i know.
Criticizing is easy (and fun) indeed maybe ill write something when i have more time until then, Guthrie Govan is probably my favorite guitarist. This is ofcourse, also extremly irrelevant.

I don't know why a personal preference is funny to you (or irrelevant when your discussing an essentially subjective idea). And besides, if you were following the whole discussion you'd know I said earlier that for JAZZ I prefer Lenny Breau (one genre at a time man). Do you really believe your snide, make fun of one guy comment has improved the quality of comments here? It's easy to criticize but you've offered nothing with your posts yet.

Enjoying Shawn Lane over McLaughlin or Dimelola is not unusual and is a matter of opinion, also if you've listened to Lane recordings with Hellborg you'd know that he has been recording fusion (no Metal) for years... listen before you comment. I am commenting on scenes I know a great deal about thank-you. All of the players this Petar dude mentioned are good (Di Meoloa a complete cheese ball but he's fast I guess) .

it wasnt Shawn lanes lack of skills that i found humorus but that he felt the need to point out that of all the great guitarist you mentioned the 'metal virituoso' was his favorite even though it was completly irrelevant to the discussion :)
