what is your definition of religion?
RespectMyHate (October 6, 2008 at 9:54 pm)
You can't prove that there isn't a God because there is a God. And deep down inside of every human being we all know that there is a God some of us except it and some try not to.

There are chemical and physical laws and living creatures and especially humans are example of the most complex applications of these chemical rules which are possible

With a force it sounds better than god theory. Just no god or force designed humans directly. They evolved. No so called force (god) really cares if we die and if we worship human made gods. There is no imaginary friend looking over us who likes especially humans. Universe is like a droplet building something else much more bigger which we will never understand. There are also smaller particals in quarks. And we just understand 1/100 of this spectrum (from quarks to universe dimensions)

Still couldnt answer the truth on how the world was started, man can try and be God, but in his process, he is only likely to discover something lethal, dangerous or cancerous.

Whatever science discovers tomorrow, however the world and the human race was started...the force behind it knew this centuries ago. Man has only a certain period on this earth, while the force that keeps this world ticking on, was about before you and me and will be about forever more....if this force comes with a set of guidelines and rules, it is for us with our own free will to believe them, if not, no harm done, because the force never designed us to live forever.

Firstly he would not create ancient book with myths (like virgin birth, talking snake, burning bush...) and not write in his book commandments like You shall have no other gods before me and you have to worship me. Ideal god would also not send his son to be killed and then create religion propagated by people wearing the symbol of his death - cross (it's so morbid like wearing electric chair on a necklace). He would not create a bitter feeling by saying to people that they all are the sinners

Can I ask, hypothetically, if you could choose the characteristics of what our God was like, (if there was a God, of course), what would you want him to be like?

I wouldn't like to be it true what Christianity or Islam proclaims. Almighty celestial dictator who supervises you every second and can convict you for your private thoughts and decide if you will go to hell or heaven is like life in North Korea. I don't have any respect to god in the Bible, his behaviour and also what he dictated doesn't show any high-tech knowledge and seems to be just a ancient myth.

I don't think you can prove 100% that it's not anything possibly similiar, either. Science looks for evidence of phenomena, based on research, experiments, etc. If a scientist has not proven that something doesn't exist, they should probably keep the possiblities open. I just think it would be wiser. And beneficial. Just my opinion. I hope the best for all.
