No, they don't. Seriously. Hand-drawn animation in the west has been dead since early 2000s; Disney closed their last cel studio after the Lilo and Stitch TV series and have long given up on the actual process of DRAWING. You can partially blame anime for this; it's a lot cheaper to dub imported anime than it is to produce your own series. Entertainment-focused country like Japan? America IS entertainment-focused, they just focus on a different audience. Pixar remains the family brand.

Now hold on a damn minute. Even America has their fair share of refined animation studios. It's just the fact that their skills are used on products that are aimed at a completely different target audience. If anything, though American studios are yet to catch up with an entertainment-focused country like Japan, America does have the technology and skills to be note-worthy. Doesn't change the fact that their lack of complex creativity has made them pale compared to Japan though.
