The economy is going down the shit hole and they expect people to buy a $500 vacuum!

dyson's are not the best vaccum out there. I vacummed with a dyson, then with a rainbow, and it looked as if the dyson did nothing at all. Dysons don't suck, they blow!

Hail to the ruler Dyson,
the bagless windbag.
May his flock continue to be suckers,
and wash regularly,
in the never ending task of removing the dirt that is lodged deep within the bowels of their machines!

The myth that a cyclonic vacuum, i.e. Dyson, performs better because it doesn't lose suction isn't born out by independent consumer tests. I'm sure the testers aren't so stupid that they haven't taken into account how full the bag is when running them.
As someone who has worked around cyclonic cones for decades I can tell you there is no way that a 'cone' could possibly remove the range of particles that a modern multi-layered
bag could-that is why a Dyson needs washable filters.

Dyson's rule ok. Your statement that the cone becomes worn is frankly bullcrap. They are much better than bagged cleaners and they don't loose suction (as long as you look after them)

How well a vacuum cleaner sucks dirt is only half the story- the other half is that it has to somehow filter out this dirt before the air is expelled into the room.
Therefore the real question is can a cyclonic cleaner filter out as much dirt as a conventional bag? The answer is no. Accordingly cyclonic vacuums like Dyson, use filters, which become clogged more rapidly than fiters found on conventional vacuum cleaners.
Another point is that over time the cone becomes worn and less efficient.

I see that you live in France... which one were you thinking about? I would be hesitant on the DC11 because of the AIR driven agitator. Also stay away from the DC07 (definitely the DC07) and the DC14 because they're not great with agitating carpets. All Dysons are great, but do some homework and choose the Dyson that fits you the best - because they differ in features.

I'd like to buy a Dyson, can anyone tell me why I shouldn't please? Because I'm just about to pull out my credit card for one of these puppies... |
