tidbitofnothin: "Actually, it's a clip from a 40's movie called "Til The Clouds Roll By" about composer Jerome Kern. He wrote the music to Show Boat. It's got lots of big names from the time like Frank Sinatra, Dinah Shore, Lena Horne, and Judy Garland (among tons of others) singing his old songs. It's not exactly a sound movie plot-wise (just another in the line of musical quasi-biopics of the time), but the musical segments are great."

Though I don't actually think she looks bored, mad or even sad, if you listen to an entire Camera Obscura album I think you'll understand why she looks that way. I don't think it has anything to do with boredom or sadness. It just fits. Can you imagine how horrible this video would be if she was dancing and smiling and glistening like the two dancing people?

i REAAALLY like this song. but can anyone explain why she looks so bored/mad/sad the entire time? it's been perplexing me! the song and singing sound so happy!

it's so magical the feeling makes me feel!!! I can understand what I feel and may be never will understand it, She's represents the sad in person!!!

It was international and massive, just not a number 1 hit. That's a good thing though. Bands usually suck once they've been at number 1, right?
