i know what ur saying but the newer ones do have better styling. merc seems to have an answer for anything put out by any automaker. the c-class amg more power than m3, the new s-class more luxurious than 7series or a8, the mclaren is faster than the r8 and the m6/5, maybach competes directly w/ rolls and bentley. i mean come on there just way ahead of any other automaker.

welll i guess its personal preference than because I also like audi styling the best of the 3 and i cant stand mercedees styling...so boring and bland besides the CLS.

its german engineering, id put the 3 pretty close in reliability audi and bmw have lower resale than mercedes. frequent repairs my ass! fuel economy...like anyone cares whos buying a brand new german car. when u wanna get the nicest cars around..best looking...most powerful...quality materials..u get a merc not a bmw. thats just how it is, not personal opinion, i like audi most out of the 3, but i admit that mercedes is the classiest of them all

mercedes are horrible cars other than the quality of materials. Their reliability and frequency of repair,repairs costs, and fuel economy are horrible, aside from the E class deisel

Agreed, plus an 335i costs less than and S5. You can almost buy an M3 coupe for the price of an S5... and there is no debate possible over the fact that it would get killed by an M3.

i think the s5 is one of the best looking cars so far in 2008,its well worth it and may be better than the 335i,even if the bm is faster.

When you are spending 60k on a car gas prices are the least of your worries...its all about how the car feels to you and what you want out of it. Numbers are sterile, its all about the personal experience!

That's why I pointed MPG as well. BMW is faster and more frugal, that's 'Advancement through Technology'

Yeah, right. Curb weights of 335i and S5 are nearly equall: 3571 and 3594 lbs, so are the dimensions (+2 inches for S5)
