"whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive... it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government" - Declaration of Independence
POWER to the PEOPLE - Go RON PAUL!!!!!!

where do you get your data? I can see by the comments you have left here that facts are not important to you so I am hesitant to bother with them, because you obviously don't care. I just can't help but say something though. Government waste is in far greater excess than that of any private charity. It is an insane difference. Private charities are much, much more effective too. Have you even researched Goodwill or the Salvation Army?

LYING bullshit! churches DO NOT discriminate you IDIOT!

It's not grovelling when you are fighting for your neighborhoods freedom. The homeless will have a better chance if we are successful in electing Dr. Ron Paul. Do something.

And show me where they have discriminated against someone and still held onto their job.
Face it, Libertarians have no practical answer about poverty. It shows how dysfunctional Libertarianism itself really is. That's why they want to dump it on someone else's lap.

mhirtes12 you wrote "Well for one thing, the "government bureaucrat" cannot discriminate against someone based on their religion or sexual preference."
Yea, I've never seen a racist, bigoted, antigay bureacrat, they're all upstanding individuals and would never be racist because the government told them they can't......WTF, lol

Do you think Jews sit around guarding their piggy banks and blacks sit around eating watermelon and fried chicken too? Stereotypes that I've never witnessed with any church charity.
mhirtes12 (August 4, 2008 at 2:51 am)
Well for one thing, the "government bureaucrat" cannot discriminate against someone based on their religion or sexual preference.
Churches are rabidly bigoted, and will try to force you into converting or they will deny you any food or shelter.
And if you're gay or atheist? You may as well not even bother trying to ask them for any help.

How is it more dignified to grovel before a government bureaucrat than to people involved in a church or charitable organization in your own neighborhood? I've helped in soup kitchens and the homeless don't seem to mind I'm not with the government.

I think it's more like "Live and let live", but you're right, that's a stupid idea. |
