its probably only 10,000 light years away- all those stars are in our galaxy and our galaxy is 100,000 light years across not a billion however your right- some massive stars out there say in M8 virgo (largest galaxy) would look large but are dead coz there billions of Light years away

Those stars are Red Giants and maybe it took many billion lightyears to see the light from the star and maybe "My Cephei" is dead now just a white drawf.

W Cephei is so He-uge! It is 2640 times bigger than our Sun. Also the sun is 109 times bigger than Earth. We are smaller than I thought. W Cephei should take pride.
