Actually, we professionals don't WANT the clutter of people showing off their games. The whole show floor is about technology - that is, the tools that we use to make the games. To a lesser extent it is about awareness of companies, regions, trends, etc. It's not about seeing or playing the games. Sorry to disappoint you media types... but Ray Kurzweil has more to offer the entertainment world that do the swarms of alleged "game industry reporters".

Yeah, unfortunately there were no big surprises at GDC, just more of what we wanted to see. I guess that's still a good thing.
