World War 1 American Legacy is a documentary series on DVD about the American involvement in WW1 and how it changed our country. The series was filmed in High Definition to portray the most detailed WWI images ever seen on screen. The Great War (also called the War to End All Wars) cost the lives of millions in battles like the Somme and Verdum. Even though the United States didn't officially enter the war until 1917, some American men and women volunteered for service as early as 1914. They drove ambulances, worked for the Red Cross, fought in the trenches and flew airplanes. Films like Lawrence of Arabia, Gallipoli, Flyboys and All Quiet on the Western Front have portrayed the war on screen. However, private collection photographs from the front, veteran letters and drawings from newspapers may give the most accurate, personal details available to us today from World War I. The last surviving American veterans have been in the news recently showing the interest that Americans have in this forgetten war. Dramatically narrated by David Carradine the series is available on DVD from retailers like Amazon.com Official website: www.greatwarfilm.com

Just don't say it to an old German soldier. He will get up out of his wheelchair and kick your ass.

The Battle of Beleau Wood and Chateau-Thierry are considered the turning points of WW1. The British were exhausted. The French were in retreat through Chateau-Thierry. American Marines turned the German offensive at Beleau Wood and stopped the German advance at Chateau-Thiery. But so many of you want to ignore our contribution. Kiss my ass Euro's. As well as you Canadians. It was the German commander at Belleau Woods who gave our Marine's the name " Devil Dogs ". So say we did nothing.

The Australians/Canadians were normaly the spearheads for any attack. The Australians with their courage. And the canadians with their skills, we helped to crush the german deathmachine. Fuck yea!

Yeah , i've heard many times that Canadians and Australians were the best. The Germans claimed that the Canadians were the thoughest because we would never retreat and that our attacks were so effective. 2 Dominions that did way better than the Brits did.

The Australian were damn good but they didn't win the aclaim like the Canadians. This does not detract from supreme sacrafices that both the Canadian Corps and the ANZACs made. Many times the Australians were responcible for getting the Canadian Corp to where we jumped off for the next big attack. But its 100% proof positive that Canada claimed the title as the toughest corps after we took Vimy Ridge and Passchendale. We also faced the first Gas attack in history at Ypres in 1915.
