The bad line output transformer of the prewar tv set Marconi 707 was rewound by Ed Dinning. Now the tv set has full line width and correct linearity. A BBC broadcast from 1936 is on display and a scene from the end of 405 line tv transmission in Britain in 1985, displaying on a 1938 tv set.

Nice work. I 100% restored an RCA 630TS last year, and am putting the finishing touches on a 1949 DuMont RA-105B-7 "Sussex", with a 15" CRT. LJB

I have done some research about picture size on screen. In 1938, they used the full screen. I will make another video with full screen tv picture like it was in 1938.

Yeah I realise that. I just wondered how it would have been originally, when the set was first bought?

One can increase the deflection currents for filling the full screen. But due to the round screen, this results in a loss of picture content (apr. 25%). I have used a lower deflection angle with full size picture. It is a question of personal taste.

Cool :) Wouldn't the raster have filled the screen normally though (with cropping)?

For exact centering, I need another focus coil which is not available for this crt.

V-Hold is fixed. the flicker results from different scanning rates (picture 25 Hz, camera 30 Hz).
