Nyan Win, the Burmese Foreign Minister addressed the UN general assembly on October 1st, 2007. Hundreds gathered in New York to protest the brutal military dictatorship of Burma and confront Nyan Win for lying about the situation. The protesters marched past the UN to the hotel where he was staying and were waiting for him when he returned from giving his speech. As spokesperson for the military dictatorship in Burma, Nyan Win denied the disappearance and slaughter of thousands of Monks in Burma following recent peaceful protests. Photographic, video and eye-witness testimony from Burma confirm that the dictatorship has slaughtered thousands in the last few days. The Burmese people and their supporters are calling for UN action now and a boycott of the Beijing Olympics in 2008. China is the primary supporter of the brutal military dictatorship. Filmed, produced and edited by Michael Oman-Reagan.

Yes - that is true! and capitalism is not democracy. But the problem now is that in Burma, the Military controls all the resources and does NOT use them for the benefit of the people! Returning the benefits of the resources to all the people of Burma is the first step.

A boycott of the Chinese Olympics in 2008 will apply pressure to the Chinese government. That pressure is intended to convince the Chinese government that it is in their own best interest to stop providing political cover for the brutal military regime in Burma. Once China stops protecting the regime, the UN and other international actors can take action against that government and in favor of democracy in Burma.

1. What do you guys want out of these protests in the US? 2. Do you think China sanction on Burma will makes Burmese people more jobless, and more people will die from starvation? I think that screaming out loud in front of the camera will not free Burma. You guys need to come up with a good strategy to restore freedom in Burma.
