In the action replay, you can see he was watching the ball come over his shoulder. I am Irish, and have no quams saying it was a great goal. Unlike others on this page.

This was a lucky and undeserved goal. Platt had no idea where the ball was going and was as surprised as anyone to see it in the back of the net. What a disgrace. Platt (nor anybody else from England) could never beat the great Preud'Homme on purpose.
