Quality control was simply the problem with Soviet designs, not the design itself, Russia Federation has making it better over the years though. F-22 gives the US a distinct advantage over the Russians temporarily until the unvailment of the PAK-FA/T-50.

America is now superior, but in cold war we were always behind, except the British, we were even or better throughout.

russian tank armory has always been 1 step above ANY other tank force: 1947- T54 with NBC protection 1950s- M60 with NBC protection 1962- T62/64 autoloaders late 70's autoloaders early 70's T-72 with smoothbore gun not found on any american tank 1979 t-80 the FIRST TANK with an engine turbine 1982- m1a1 with turbine, smoothbore and NBC protection 90's comes with the t-90 america-... pass...
