This actor gives me a creep - he has such teeth and doesn't look like a man who would feel much remorse about Jesus. But a brilliant voice, though.

this man can sing, but his voice is very wrong for this part. it is too powerful(his acting is way over the top too) His voice doesn't reflect the attitude. If he's confused and scared, his voice should reflect that, but it's very powerful, even when pianissimo.. just wrong. bad acting and bad directing. The original portrayal is much better

Boy is he a feast for the eyes and ears, as compared to the Pilate in 1973 movie. Such an amazing voice and he's fit too.

You could make that argument, but honestly, it does take a ridiculous amount from the hippie movement. You need only to listen to the music to figure that out.
