They are wrong on many accounts, they wouldn't even know what the 720 aspect even means. The reason 720 isn't better is because 1080 has better frame rate, more pixels (Hence 1080), better fluency, and better contrast of colors (But black)while 720 does a quarter of this.

The difference between P and I is simple. I stands for Interlaced which does nothing really, and P stand for Progressive which has a higher framerate which takes away the blur effect on your Tv.

Also do you have a 1080p/i TV? I don't think you do. The picture is sooo much better that you think your movie is really happening (Took along time to get use to that)while on 720 it looked just like our other TV in the bed room except a big clearer.

720p isn't better and that has been proven. 1080p has better fluency, Picture, and in some cases sound. The only thing about 1080p/i that people don't like is it can't contrast light to dark well. But 720p isn't better than 1080p and it will never be that way.
I remember when this rumor started, it was started by a bunch of pricks pissed off they couldn't buy a TV that was 1080 so they spread lies on the internet saying 720 was better. Which has been proven false.
