its slowly getting better believe me there is hope!!! But mostly stil all crappy. Its cause people are chepe use digital and dont have real talent. Magnetic tape is better it gets you this sound digital gets you Jonas Brothers. Most other modern songs are just degrees of Jonas brother suckiness. Also old school drumming and guitar solos and a guy who actually knows how to play the frickin bass!

Check out Janis Ian's "Stars" if you can find it. It's about fame and how fleeting it can be, kind of sad but the lyrics are amazing. :)
