I guess because she was too overwhelmed about all the shouting but anyway other actors like James Mcavoy did stay and signed lots of autographs

As stated lately she is competing with actresses who are the only main role in their own films. In atonement she shares it with McAvoy and the kid, she hasn't as much as an impact on her movie as Marion Cotillard or even Ellen Paige have... anyway she was great in her movie but I totally agree with the BAFTA going to Marion Cotillard, what a performance in Piaf!

(following post) So I think I understand why she didn't win and she seems very modest and lucid in that video. I like her and I love the movie "Atonement"!

Keira was really good in Pride&Prejudice but the problem with her performance in Atonement is that she hasn't such a big part in the movie, so actually she wasn't able to really shine out, unlike the other actresses who were also nominated, such as Marion Cotillard or even E.Page and J.Christie. These actresses all have the leading part in their respective movie, Keira had to share the 'leading front' with James McAvoy and all the Brionys.
