I didn't know you could use two short swords! i THOUGHT YOU COULD ONLY HAVE ONE BIG ONE

ah well that makes sence, its hard to tell from the action alone if he was faking do or if he just changed his mind. mostly cause he does it so fast lol

I'd say that depends on who the players are. Olympic fencing really disgusts me with all the running around, yelling, and screaming that lasts longer than the match.

In an interview, Teramoto said that he initially was going to go for do but he saw that Takanabe took a defensive position and instinctively changed his attack to men. By the time Takanabe started his counterattack it was too late. Takanabe later said that after repeated do attempts from Teramoto he fell into a pattern and Teramoto used that tho his advantage.

looks to me like right when his opponents dou was oppened he faked striking it hoping for the block then hit men. the opponent made the right move but not fast enough. though thats just my opinion :)

Hawaiinstile, do you think it was katsugi men, or just a dou feint then men? I've heard it both ways.

Word. When I first saw the match on DVD, I had no idea that takanabe's men was soooooooo close to teramoto's. Shinpan got it right. Damn fine judging.

fencing is more elegant while kendo is passionate

Not really a guess when you've been doing Kendo all your life you pick up on a lot of signs of how a guy will strike ya'. |
