It's well known The Beatles did drugs but they never let it interfere with their concentration in the studio. However, this song is one exception. There have been a number of accounts (by both Beatles and those who were there in the studio) that they were high while recording this song. George lit an ashtray on fire and started running around the studio floor with it! I'm guessing they had to all be cranked up on speed to knock out a track this heavy and out of control. AWESOME AIN'T IT?

"The White Album" was the one that started it all for me back in 1980 at the age of three! The first Beatles song I ever heard was "Don't Pass Me By" of all things. I had the double 8-track of the "White Album" and I remember my grandfather thought someone outside in the street was screaming when Ringo yelled out "I'VE GOT BLISTERS ON MY FINGERS!" Good childhood memories! Thank you Uncle John, Paul, George, and Ringo!
