About Liveview - I have a Canon S3, which is a compact ultrazoom camera with electronic eye viewfinder and a tilt-swivel display. I NEVER use the display except for situations where I can't use it (overhead, from the surface, over an obstacle, ...). Having the camera supported by hands AND by the face is much better than holding it in just two arms bent in the most unstable angle.
