You don't LEARN to fly in a fighter plane!!! As a pilot, this is a great song that conveys the emotions most of us have when we get bit with the bug to learn to fly. And the bug never goes away.

I respect everyones opinion but the real meaning of this song is Gilmours passion for flying... He even states that he has a huge passion for flying and that he feels that its amazing

man u know this song is special to u when u have many dreams about it. just running off that cliff, jumping, and floating off into the sky...this song makes it feel like i really am flying. pink floyd is a musical genious.
