http://www.edmunds.com/insidel... Now that the standard 2009 Nissan GT-R is in full production, development of the 2010 Nissan GT-R V Spec is ramping up. This is a lightweight version of Nissan's new supercar and it's scheduled to go on sale next year. In addition to its notable reduction in weight, the track-rated GT-R V Spec is also expected to get a slight increase in horsepower over the 480 hp of the standard model. Seen here lapping the Nürburgring test track in Germany, the 2010 Nissan GT-R V Spec has several visible upgrades. Up front, a small aerodynamic splitter with twin air intakes has been added to the front airdam. It doesn't look like much, but given how dependent the GT-R is on its aerodynamics, even a small addition like this has a big impact. A slightly revised rear spoiler, possibly made of carbon fiber, is also visible in back. A set of lightweight six-spoke wheels is another visible upgrade. We can't tell if the Bridgestone Potenza tires wrapped around the new wheels are any bigger, but they're probably a slightly stickier compound. Also visible are new composite brake rotors and slightly revised calipers. We've been told these are for testing purposes only at this point and will only be used if they show considerable improvement over the standard setup. Considering that a stock GT-R turned in the shortest 60-0-mph stop we've ever recorded, the addition of these carbon brakes on the GT-R V Spec isn't assured. In addition to the weight-reduction program, the 2010 Nissan GT-R V Spec is also expected to surpass the 500-hp mark. Although rampant speculation on the Internet suggests the GT-R is already developing more than 500 horses, our recent dynamometer testing says otherwise. Even if this GT-R only adds another 25-50 hp, however, its reduced weight should make it considerably faster than the base model. Expect to see some official Nürburgring lap times later this summer.

ya true that well i can't afford one now anyways maybe when i get out of college and work for a couple of years i can think about a gtr untill then nissan is going to come back with the silvia as a s16 its pretty much a sure thing now when they come out with the 370z in 2010 or maybe 2011 and base price maybe under 20k so compare it to the genesis for similar price and performance you can give up leather seats for a relaible nissan instead of a shitty hyndai

you no wat the gtr vspec is 7:25 while the zr1 was 7:26 and the acr would be absolutely shit if its not on the track no one could fucking live wit it on the track it will be better but in real life as a daily driver the gtr easily beats them both

i agree man, z-06 is a great great car u cant take that away from it, but a GTR just eclipses it. Nissan took THE iconic car of the playstation generation and managed to improve it. not just improve it but turn it into a real supercar. i would contend the GTR is the greatest sports car on the road today, all things considered

don't let rednecks turn you off the zr1 its an awesome car in its own right. personally i would have both if i could a zr1 and gtr v-spec now that would be friggin awesome.

RubberVette? I thought it was PlasticVette? Or...plasticpig. God I love reading anti-GTR comments by redneck Americans.
