catholics and protestants are my brothers just as jews, muslims, buddhists, hindu or atheists... but all these brothers of mine have left the way of jesus christ (or they've never been there) to worship something or somebody else... like the pope or forbidden sculptures or the kaaba or the flag of the united states or money or whatsoever... forgive them Father, for they know not what they do!

Not even close to the same. Externally, with vestments, incense, liturgical worship and hierarchical structure it may appear to be the same, but theologically the Orthodox and Catholic Churches are worlds apart. This has been the case for over a thousand years. If we were indeed the same, we would be unified. We are not. Ecumenism isn't as pretty as one makes it appear -- to pretend that what happened at the Great Schism means nothing is to undermine the teachings of Apostolic Christianity.
