I was just watching Seinfeld and George was talking about a statue he broke as a kid.
He said, "My parents had this same statue and I broke it when I was using it as a microphone while I was singing Macarthur Park. I got to the part 'I'll never have the recipe again' and I dropped it."
LoL, now that I looked it up that part is 10 times funnier.

This is pretty much the best song ever made...talk about amazing and occasionally funny lyrics put to an unforgettable melody and orchestra. And to top that, Richard Harris having a ball while singing this. CLASSIC.

You ever been to MacArthur Park? Shit, go there about midnight...wow, I could tell you some HORROR STORIES about that place...I used to walk there about 1 in the morning to buy dope (crack)...SCARY SHIT...especially that tunnel/underpass that goes under Wilshire...you know what I mean if you've ever been there...walking through that underpass was like walking into A NIGHTMARE...

Actually no, its about the enviroment. And it was originally written to mock the Pyschadelic Music of the '60s.

This is a very Romantic Song. People don't get it because they are not sentimental. It is an awesome song only if you are a romantist. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This song is a channeled metaphor in code to warn us about America just ready to celebrate 200 'it took so long to bake it' years. The green icing is our undoing-a financial meltdown, striped pants-Uncle Sam, love is lady liberty or statue of, dark-we didn't see it comin,rain-we were foolishly careless, after all the loves-other countries to live in,this is the best, passions flow 'to'the sky,one nation under God.Music quickens as to say hurry, there's so little time left.

George Costanza was singing this song and he was using a a statue that belonged to his parents. He was using the statue as a microphone and he got to the part of "And I'll never have the recepie again" and he dropped and broke the statue. XD
This is from Seinfeld - The Statue |
