directed by Marinus de Goederen edited by Tjeerd Muller 'Poster Child' by Dutch band a balladeer is taken from their second album 'Where Are You, Bambi Woods?'. The song is about Matthew Shepard, a 21 year old student who was robbed, gun whipped and tied to a fence, probably because he was gay. He was left for dead in near-freezing temperatures. Eighteen hours later a biker found him, mistaking him for a scarecrow at first. Matthew Shepard died from severe head injuries on 12 October 1998. His murderers Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson are imprisoned for life. POSTER CHILD the smell of the sagebrush reaches your brain the scent of the pines from the snow covered range you came out tonight there in search of a friend well, the Wyoming wind wants to play with your bangs hang on, handsome we are going to get you out of here quick hang on, handsome just wait and watch out for the bicyclist the sun it goes down now for a second black night it's you in the outskirts, not a soul here in sight the beautiful sky as your last piece of hope the same moon and stars that you saw through the telescope hang on, handsome we are going to get you a new pair of shoes hang on, handsome the bicyclist he will know what to say and do (c) M. de Goederen For more info on a balladeer, check http://www.aballadeer.com and/or http://www.myspace.com/aballad...

rest in peace Matthew. I hope you found what you were looking for in your too short life. Wishing you found beauty, love, forgiveness, and peace on that night. I hope you still believe Laramie sparkles. With every lucky penny and shooting star I'll think of you. keep the faith, Nina

a young boy once asked his mother: Do you think I'll be famous? wow...I teared up to that.

prachtig liedje....doet me denken aan een klasgenoot die ik half jaar geleden verloren ben...16 jaar brommer ongeluk...hij deed niets verkeerd...voor a balladeer: ga zo door !
