An atheist praying to God has entered the proverbial foxhole.Although he may return again.

Kurt Vonnegut was a secular humanist. I believe he uses the word 'God' as more of a metaphor and a vessel of humor.
i.e. An atheist praying to 'God' that he would never die.

Kurt Vonnegut was a humanist. He had a keen sense for irony.

In Mother Night, he called God "the laziest man in town".

was Kurt really an athiest? sure he was no where near religious, but in "man without a country" kurt talks about his belief in some kind of a God many times. he requested his epitaph to be "the only proof i need of god is music" |
