I guess it's kind of commendable that he largely keeps product placement out of his films -whether the Heinekin business was product placement is debatable. Haven't seen the film in a while, but I always saw the characters excessive brand loyalty as just a sweet way of showing his naivety. If he shoots commercials as a means of subsidising his films then that's fine. The Gucci one he did is ace.

Man, gotta love DL. Anybody who has read and watched other interviews of the man knows he's not being hypocritical on this issue. The prominent placement or mention of products is either a personal comment by him or is the result of a studio-level decision out of his control (most likely the former as he has maintained artistic control over most of his work). To think otherwise is TFB.

im just joking man, but theres no way that is paid advertisement though, its just the use of a common real world product, would you have rather he used Blieniken instead?

Yeah, but ONLY that line, in the rest of the movie you can see many heineken bottles, and you can hear "heineken" or "i like heineken" many times too. Oh, and "Heineken, fuck that shit" is advertising too, the only thing is that Frank just dont like it, but remember that Frank is the bad guy in the movie. Im not blaming him, i just love him and his movies, i just said hes not being consequent with some of his acts. And please, DONT INSULT.

I do remember the line "Heineken? FUCK THAT SHIT!" I'm sure they wanted him to put that in there too dipshit
