I think Mr. Rouse deserves a lot of credit by not getting thrown off my Monk's accompaniment. With all that dissonance and syncopation being thrown at him during his solo, he should have pulled his hair out trying to keep up! I've read where even Coltrane said Monk was very difficult to play with.

The man was amazing! I could really care less for the Jazz pianists who had speed and mind boggling tecnical tricks,(won't mention names) The disonance he added into the music really worked!
