A true masterwork. I have seen and heard many recordings of this piece and I must say there are just 2 or 3 of them that I like. And this recording...Don't like it again. I think he plays the "vocal notes" in the beginning, if you know what I mean, way to hard. But that is just my opnion of course...enjoy :D Oh and for a really good performance have a look here: http://www.icarus3.com/downloa... I love it :D

LOL I hate to say it but he does heh starting at like 1:20 his movements make it look like he's trying not to puke all over the piano. eeew I can't unsee it!

Sissco, you must be joking. The Icarus interpretation was beginner level? What happened to the speed in the ultra fast descent?

look everyone has their opinions, for example everyone likes different actors, so I don't see why you can't like some interpretations of and not others.

Accentuating the right hand is certainly interesting. Some beautiful moments. Brings out the "bells" aspect well. Ashkenazy does this well also and Justin James on his Piano CD.

I just love how so many piano players get "into" the music. Is it really easier to play like that? I once had a friend say that classical and rock music are on two completely different ends of the spectrum. But how can they not be cousins, when both invoke such emotion (different emotions, true) and let you head bang? You can't head bang playing the flute or the tuba, you know.
