Hm, I'd tend to agree there. Although his voice is intrinsically quite nice - can't fault the man for being a tenor - this song is more suited to a baritone, and as such, the soloist almost gets drowned out by the accompanying orchestra. IMO, Fischer-Dieskau is a much better representation of what the song should sound like.

The singer's voice is good, but apparently not strong enough to compliment Schubert's masterpiece. I'm a little disappointed.
