although this opening is truly astounding, i dont like the way the rest of the piece, which is equally as good, is hardly ever heard. i also dislike the fact that, in general, people only really know Strauss for these few minutes of music. He wrote many pieces that, in my view are superior to 'also sprach'...Alpine Symphony for instance
