Why is it scary? Because it had to use every last inch of that runway to takeoff. You like to have a little extra runway in case things aren't perfect.

Ever tried to lift a battleship into the air? These things are huge and heavy so it may not look like it was fast or anything but it generated enough power to lift off. The size of it causes an illusion of it being way to slow

It looks like a normal commercial plane take-off to me, I don't see what's so special, except the angle at which it's filmed, and the front view of the take off.
