whoops. my apologies to the poster of this video. My comment suggested the clip was cut short before Chomsky could explain himself. I didn't realize that there was a "part 2" to this video. My bad. Thanks for posting this.

This video is outrageous. You can clearly see that his answer is abruptly cut short at the end; likely edited in an effort to suggest that Chomsky is in favour of the ludicrous '9/11 truth' fanatics' absurd theories.

Support?

Of course, of all the shit Chomsky has said about the government he is going to respond to threats or be blackmailed by the US government. The 9-11 Truth movement should have been over a long time ago.

Bill Mahr and Noam Chomsky have both let me down with their support for the official story. I wouldn't be surprised if they are under threat or blackmail.

But he states that he believes the crime was committed by foreign terrorists, not political wings in our own government. He is saying that if the right wing were found largely complicit, even this would not benefit the left, so therefore for the left to be pursuing the right on this matter does not benefit them. I don't really understand how he can say this. If Watergate turned America away from Ford and toward Carter, imagine what 911-gate could do for an opposition party.

Yeah. Its seems odd that he would want anyone to emerge triumphant if they were involved in this crime.
iwanttowatchsomethin (September 4, 2008 at 4:52 pm)
Well, "the left" may be found to be complicit in the crimes. It doesn't matter which side of the political spectrum "emerges triumphant". What matters is that Americans get their country back from the criminals that run it. A criminal may be a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent. Who cares? Chomsky doesn't.

"if -- which I very greatly doubt -- something is found that would quickly send everyone in Washington to the death chamber, the left is unlikely to emerge triumphant."
