did anyone watch the episode of cold case when it was just bruce springsteen songs used as the soundtrack?
this song was on it and so were some others like stolen car and one step up...i think using his songs made it SO much better. He's great!

The "Chicken Man" was Philip Testa, a Philadelphia mafia boss who was assassinated in 1981 by a bomb planted in his house. Testa's killing resulted in a wide scale mafia war throughout Philadelphia, which is probably the main reason the event is mentioned in the song.
He was known as "The Chicken Man" due to his involvement in the poultry industry.

The Chicken Man? He was Nobody. But some guys from Philly decided to blow him up. WHY? I dont ask questions. Maybe he sold somebody some bad poultry. Maybe He forgot to pay somebody some money he owed, Its a song about,......naghhh. If I have to explain it, they dont need to know. Si? Love Little Steven in the role!

How good is the Boss, he recorded the whole Nebraska album on a cassette recorder in his garage with just a guitar and a harmonica!
However I prefer the full band version of this song (Paris '85). |
