but if you ask anyone about jazz in general, they probably won't know what it is anyway. xD ask a jazz player about Bill Evans, and they'll know who he is.

Ahh,bill still has influence on young pianist, but yes most of the general public doesnt know him. They know Kenny G, a nothing player who makes millions playing mostly out of tune,simple bs-sad

How about a hand for the producer Orrin Keepnews,for having the insight to record these cats in the first place? Try to get his book "The View From Within"(Oxford University Press,1988)-a great read on the fine hard bop of the period.
