Much better than the Chicago push, drag, pull, honkey polkas of today. They dont even know the proper tempo, this is how polkas were meant to be played! I think the musicians today are just to lazy to play at 130 beats per minute!

Its fantastic, not only the music, but the showmanship. I realy dig the way Jo Ann strong arms Myron's hand shake at the end. she had to have some muscle to pound keys and toss an accordion around like she did.

Yet we have never seen Myron on the piano. They were excellent accordionists.

JoAnn is an excellent accordion player. The main reason she played ragtime piano on the Welk show was they already had their accordion player, Myron Floren. If you ever get a chance to hear it, JoAnn does an excellent version of "Bumble Boogie" which is a jazzed up boogie version of "Flight of the Bumble Bee." Thanks for letting us see and hear JoAnn on the accordion.

Jo Ann's very first album was accordion. I have it. She actually was hired for the Lawrence Welk Show as a female accordionist. When "Big Tiny" Little left the show Jo Ann stepped into his shoes as the honky tonk pianist.
