My Dad the Hair Stylist
A short documentary about a typical day of a Chinatown hair stylist, who happens to be my old man. You can say it's basically it's the second generation Asian American paying ode to the first generation.
It features the song "Beyond the Horizon" by Bob Dylan and was screened at the 9th Annual KSW APAture Festival's Film and Video Night. Enjoy.

I like watching documentary's of your family. It's a good insite into chinese culture. The modesty in the conversation and how we all share a common story. My family fled communist China, went to HK and then SF too :) Most importantly, it's a good way to preserve your family memories. I have tons of pix's and video's of my daughter :) |
