I posted a note here awhile ago, about how I emailed Jim Bradley(Minister of Transportation) regarding this vehicle. I heard from him today. Despite addressing me as Ms.Giles(I'm a dude but my name is Kelly), the email was complete BULLSHIT!!!!!!. Here is the Email.

Dear Ms. Giles,
Thank-you for your email regarding low speed vehicles.
The McGuinty government supports initiatives that expand mobility options for Ontarians, improve air quality and promote green technologies, which is why I recently announced an independent study on Low Speed Vehicles (LSVs).

Some of the standards that they do not meet include standards for brakes, seat belt anchors, doors and structural strength. While we support expanded LSV use, we will continue to put safety first.
We anticipate this study will be completed in the fall. When we get the results, we will be in a position to see what changes are going to be required in the LSVs, and where they would be allowed to operate.

It is important to note that Electric passenger cars are perfectly legalright nowfor operation on Ontarios roads as long as they meet the 40 federal standards for a passenger car and equipment requirements under the Highway Traffic Act. Electric passenger vehicles are currently being produced, and there are some on our roads today. These vehicles are plated and registered as passenger cars. Thank-you again for your inquiry.Sincerely,
Jim Bradley
Minister of Transportation

well i dont think an average middleclass person can afford the Tesla. It may look and perform better but it is what its worth.

Made in Canada, omg, can you believe if we developed an expertise in electric vehicles, pretty much guaranteed to eventually rule the roads? Stupid short sighted corrupt politicians.

The idea is you don't take it on the highway - and use it in the city instead of your V-8 Hummer. lol |
