Permit me to enter the fray. I must be honest with you. I have never heard of Blink182, so cannot comment on that band's merits or lack thereof. However, I do know Queen, a band that defined music excellence. Each and every single member of the original band contributed in one way or another. Other bands made politics and claimed they could cure the world of its malaise, Queen on the other hand, made music. THAT, is the difference between Queen and, err, the "rest". Freddie, happy birthday.
