Hard to source it but starting in the 1870s Whites (politicians) sent out brochures warning people that Black men would attack White women. It stemmed from there and just fested and still exists today.

After watching this video I wonder if ppl saw the Bill Cosby Show as a breath of fresh air. Personally, I liked the show altho I wondered why the daughters all had to be super lt. skinned. I liked how the show had positive Blk ppl. However, working with poor Black children 1 little girl asked me why people see showing a movie w/ a poor Black kid is stereotyping when so many like her are poor and Black (and this child is only 6).
