Ashamed? actually im very proud of my roots, i live in australia and when i tell random people what nato i am they reply "oh yeah we studied use in school, u had a big empire back ages ago" or "oh yeah we have heard about you in the bible" Im a very proud assyrian, my ancesters were mesopotamian the cradle of civilization! we are middle easterners but not arabs, also assyrians also come from iran,syria & turkey not just iraq

Chaldeans tend to call them selfs iraqi and have alot of iraqi pride while Assyrians know that they aren't iraqi, they have assyrian blood and were around long before iraq was a country, the only thing iraq has done for assyrians is slaughter our people and blow up our churches
