The sad thing is that he was right...people went wild whenever he'd fall down and make a mess, etc. That IS what the people wanted to see. Reminds me of when Dave Chapelle berated a college audience once when they kept begging him to say "I'm Rick James, bitch!"
It's a sad story...guy becomes rich, famous, and beloved by playing a fat, clumsy, oafish type. In the book, they talk about how he would act that way around women in order to get them to talk to him.

Thanks for sharing. I love him...He was my is always will be one of my FAvorite men of comedy. I cried when he died.....How sad. But Life isn't always funny for those who make us laugh. |
