the same glitch happened to me when I first got pokemon yellow except the trainers were Missingno to.

Ok, so if you don't encounter Missingno, for instance a Magneton (battle the top Channeler on the 3rd floor of the pokemon Tower), can you catch them? Or will it cause your game to freeze? Cause I've seen quite a few nice Pokemon I'd like to have, but I'm afraid it'll mess up my game..
