One question about the blades. I used to use a pivot head cartridge razor, and it was easy to know when to change blades, now since I have just begun to use a single blade safety razor, I would like to know when it would be necessary to change the blades on it. I hope this isn't a stupid question.

Mantic, I have a lather question. I am building (what I think) is a pretty good lather. I apply it to my neck and face shave my face and by the time I reach my neck my lather is dried and I have to reapply. Is there not enough water in my lather or am I taking to long to shave my face? (Sorry if I posted this twice)

Thanks for this video! I just got done with my first wet shave using a single blade razor, and it turned out pretty good. I've still got to work on the curved parts of my face, but your video got me well on my way.

Ok I am new to safety razors, I just picked up a Gillette Super Speed from EBAY. I have what may be a silly question. Seeing as the handle is made of aluminum it is said to be prone to oxidation creating rust. My question is how do i care for my safety razor and make sure it's properly clean and will last me for the rest of my life. Also any blades you would recommend, I get 1 Gillette Thin Blade and I am thinking about getting some Merkurs.
