well...I didn't feel like going into all the various ALREADY BEEN DONE styles of black music that these guys are copying...er..I mean...influenced by...and my 'audio-vocabulary'(I kinda dig that)is EXTREMELY varied...I love everythang from Andy Gibb to the Bad Brains to Yma Sumac to John Coltrane to P-Funk to EPMD to early Van Halen to Bach to Al Green to Bow Wow Wow to America to...(see that's what happens when I don't 'over-simplify')I'm STILL sick of these unoriginal players! GET YA OWN SOUND

Dude...so wrong...these cats are laying down Afrobeat grooves mixed with JM funk, deep blues, motown soul, and whatever else that hits them. If all you hear is JB riffs, then your audio-vocabulary must be extremely limited. This music so layered & comes from such deep variety of traditions. If you don't like it, then don't like it. But demean it by over simplifying it.

I saw this same songs before little brother show. The place was lovin the live sound. Sweat never stoped dripping from these guys. Nice to see they got a album now. Peace.

ya know...i've had just about enough of bands like this one, and Ozomatli, and the Breakestra and all these other bands who do nothing but rehash some old festive James Brown sound (and water it down at that!)this 'afro-rare-groove' thing is corny and BORING! CREATE YOUR OWN SOUND CLOWN!!!
