In reply to keinxnam10....1. who the FUCK told you that it has to be going 300mph to dig into a clay court..2. If he could have chllenged he probably woul have, but he was out of challenges ...3. ur a shit kunt

But I must say, I doubt this is fake. If it is, it's a very elaborate hoax. I know both those commentators, so that's not fake, and to stage that whole thing with an audience and everything sounds like a lot of fuss just for a gatorade commercial. I think it's real.
PatrickWestrope (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I'm not sure if this was real or not, but the fact that he didn't challenge doesn't mean it was fake, because not all courts have the Hawk-Eye or other challenge system, and most clay courts don't. I can't say anything about the other two points, though. I know his fastest serve was 155, but I don't know what it would take to stick it in the clay like that, and I'm not sure what match this was supposed to be from, so...For me, the jury is still out.

Nice...
Kevinxnam10 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
This is fake people 1.even on a clay court hes still going to have to hit at least over 300mph on his serve his record is 155,2if he really believed that shot was in he wouldve challenged the reff and they couldve seen if it was in or not with the camera,3 if u still think this is real show me a match of that game otherwise u have no proof and no shitty things like i was there plz

man it isnt backspin Roddick hits his serves flat....
wepsterman (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
oh no! I just ment for an example ;-) I agree that it's not, I wouldn't say possible but, sure enough not very easy top backspin a overheadbackspinserve. and now i rethink it.. i thought you ment to say it was o so logiacal that there was a backspin in it ;-)
r0kep0ke (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
but on a serve? I understand how you can have a topspin serve, and a slice serve which gives a bit of side spin, but backspin? You'd have to get the raquet under the ball to do that, like you would with a slice backhand. How is that physically possible when you're doing an overarm serve? |
